Check It Out! Program
In the belief that computers can connect competent users to vast amounts of information that can be of direct benefit in their daily lives, InfoQuest Foundation has initiated the Check It Out! program.

Although many schools now have computer labs, access to computers is by no means equal among students -- students who have learned to use computers at home have a tremendous advantage over those who are only able to access them in the lab.

Check It Out! has provided high school students who do not have a computer at home with the opportunity to complete a basic orientation class and then take a computer home for two months. Having a computer at home enables students to overcome any hesitancy to use computers, and allows these young people to gain technological literacy while providing them with equal access to the educational resources of the Internet.

Check It Out! has operated at Huntington Beach High School in Southern California and the Columbia Middle School District in Northern California.
